Each player controls one or more retinues. Each Retinue consists of a Lord, and a group of men sworn to defend him. There are no 'cohesion' rules, but each player should be aware that if the Lord dies, there is a good chance the retinue, or a sizeable chunk of it, will flee.

The rules were designed to be easy enough for a convention participation game, while still trying to portrayed the swirling fluid nature of small skirmishes. Figures are armed 'what you see is what you get'
