Some folks over at the Crossfire Yahoo group are worried that the Crossfire Lite rules you have in this site, while not necessarily illegal, may not respect the wishes of Arty Conliffe, the author of Crossfire. He might not be ok with a "demo" or "lite" version of the rules. Have you checked with him?
Hope everything's okay with yourself haven;t seen you in a few days. Anyways I've finished moving Misc over except two entries which I've forced to sort under the broken links page so I can find them again (waiting on a forum board joining and a yahoo group join). Hope yo don't mind but I also finished up the end of WW2, although I think theres still links across to the original freewargamessite site under a few entries. I also puleld together a bit of a format for the main page, feel free to use it or not, I'll leave it upto you. The layouts currently stored under Testpageone still needs some work around the colour selection and I'll add a preloader for the new wwargame entry box, I can add anything you like or feel free to adjust it. I'll keep wandering around tidying stuff up as I can.
Thought I was done with modern then realized I'd missed "m". I'm hoping you don't mind that any page I edit now I try to move onto the visual editor compliant template. 1800 entries but hopefully overtime the wikia will pick up more editors and each entry will be converted.
If you want me to stop just yell I'm easy so no issue. If you want to integrate the template a little more for new entries there is a way to link the template to the create page button on the wikia look layout (not sure if you view via monobook or wikia).
Basically you'd need to copy the content from PreloadVENewWargame2 while in edit mode to MediaWiki:Createpage-with-video while editing that page (do both in source view). That second page is an admin only edit so once you place it there it's protected. No need to use my template, you can go to that second link and design your own default layout that users can fill in :).
Ahh you'll pick it up pretty quick, I started the same way. The only odd thing about a standalone mediawiki install compared to a default wikia site is this move towards the visual editor on wikia. I'm finding a lot of what I normally do doesn't work/mesh so well with the visual editor which is frustrating as it's the default editor and I gather eventually to be the only option.
I'm not sure if you want to or not but if you can get the wikia admins to enable the DPL extension for the wiki we can do some coll things like randomly extract a game a day automatically on the mainpage. same under each category. I sent something similar up over on the aus30k and aus40k wikis (http://aus30k.com/30kwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page), although those two are a standalone install of mediawiki the DPL functionality being offered at wikia is the same. We have found DPL to be handy to give the pages a changing look without someone having to manually adjust the pages each week/month.
sigh pressed enter to soon....meant to add the wikia admins will probably eb alittle catious as DPL can consume a lot of processing power if used to much, but the main sue would be for the main page and possibly you could doa random highlight game under each of the categories. Anyways just a thought I'm happy to setup the required DPL code extracts etc :).
I'll go back to working through Misc although your ripping through wwii real quick :)
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but have been away in Derby all weekend and on my mobile device couldn't reply to your post.
There is no right or wrong way to do it whichever suits you best. I'm just trying to get the rules on as quick as I can. At present I have linked to the rules on my freewargamesrules website. At some future point I would like to transcribe them onto the wiki.
I re-checked the WWG wormhole rules and I'm not sure if they are worth adding as without the purchased product the rules don't contain enough info to play a game. Did you want me to add them in or leave them out?
